Amidst Leeds United transfer rumors, Ben Godfrey has already delivered his judgment on Daniel Farke.

Ben Godfrey, a reported target for Leeds United, has previously discussed the crucial advise Daniel Farke gave him early in his career. Godfrey has been connected to a transfer to Leeds, where Farke may need to add extra cover at both full-back and center-back in order to strengthen his defensive line.

Godfrey is a center back by trade, but he has the ability to play full back. Farke has already worked with the Everton star at Norwich City, so he is aware of what to anticipate from the player. Since joining Everton, Godfrey has found it difficult to get consistent playing time, which is why there have been rumors of a potential January transfer.

Interestingly, Godfrey disclosed how Farke’s guidance might have altered the course of his career in a 2021 interview with the Everton club website. “You will be a good midfielder but a top center-back,” Farke assured me, he claimed. He emphasized my pace, being aggressive, and playing out from the back, and I accepted his judgment and haven’t been able to dispute with it thus far.”

“People were telling me to be patient when I wasn’t playing, but that’s easier said than done,” Godfrey continued. Not expecting to play is really difficult, but you have to keep working hard to be prepared for your opportunity.

“I seized the chance when it presented itself and never looked back. I didn’t give up and unwind. In the cutthroat world of football, there’s always someone looking to replace you. I knew how it felt, therefore I didn’t want to sit on the bench once more. I continued working and made certain that I remained on that team.

Godfrey was supposedly scheduled to sign a contract with Atalanta this month, but it appears the deal is off the table, which might allow Leeds to move forward. It is uncertain, though, if Everton will agree to an initial loan agreement given that the defender was reportedly on the verge of being sold for up to £15 million.
