Our priority’: Manager opens door for £3.5m Rangers ace to sign for his club -Rangers News

Manager hints at move for £3.5m Rangers ace as he shares transfer ‘priority’

In light of interest in the £3.5 million Rangers player, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk has said that the Turkish Super Lig contenders are giving priority to a left-back. This has sparked rumors about Ridvan Yilmaz.

When questioned about a possible approach for Rangers’ number three in the last week of the transfer window, Galatasaray vice president Erden Timur was reticent to comment, but his head coach was not nearly as sly.

Ridvan Yilmaz has been heavily linked with a return to Turkey, 18 months after leaving Besiktas for Rangers. And Buruk is making no secret of the fact that a left-back is Galatasaray’s first ‘priority’ between now and the close of the Turkish transfer window on February 9th.

Ridvan Yilmaz could still leave Rangers for Turkey

According to Buruk, via Sporx, “The left back is our priority in the transfer.” “Because this region lacks what we have.”

In the upcoming days, the giants from Istanbul may discover that they are even less proficient in the left-sided position. According to reports, Angelino—formerly of Manchester City and RB Leipzig—is traveling to Italy. Roma is reportedly one of the teams expressing interest.

Yilmaz may be the guy put in charge of filling Angelino’s shoes. Yilmaz seems to have lost out on a move to Serie A when Hellas Verona moved their attention elsewhere.

Timur, meanwhile, admits that Galatasaray have the funds available to them to a couple of new additions before the window closes. Sporx, however, insist that there is still work to be done before reaching an agreement with Rangers.

Galatasaray do not want there to be an obligation-to-buy clause in Yilmaz’s contract, preferring an ‘optional’ clause instead.

Galatasaray could sell their own left-back

“It is a period where there are very few options. (But) it seems that we can make one or two reinforcements at the moment,” Timur explains. “If we can find a player we can buy for (Buruk), we will.

“Agents for Angelino are in negotiations. Three or four teams want him. I wouldn’t be appropriate if I named the teams. The transfer is able to happen.

If Yilmaz were to leave Rangers, they would probably sign a successor, although Philippe Clement’s options for left backs seem to be running out quickly.

Owen Beck was passed over by Liverpool, Kai Wagner continued at Philadelphia Union, David Jurasek moved from Benfica to Hoffenheim, and Josh Dougherty is currently a player for Sassuolo.
