West Ham set to follow Rangers’ lead with reported £15.3m Right to Dream transfer

West Ham is expected to make a £15.3 million Right to Dream move, following Rangers’ example.

This January, Rangers won’t be the only team signing an FC Nordsjaelland Right to Dream graduate; West Ham is also pursuing Ibrahim Osman.

The 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande, who has played for the Superliga team for four years, is reportedly close to joining the Ibrox team.

West Ham is currently seeking to sign a second player from the Right to Dream Academy after spending £38 million on Mohammed Kudus, an Ajax forward, in the summer.

Ibrahim Osman, an attacker from Ghana, appears to be one of the best young players in the nation, and the most recent reports indicate West Ham would spend big for the teenager.

Move for Ibrahim Osman by West Ham

According to renowned transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, West Ham and FC Nordsjaelland are now in negotiations over a €18 million (£15.3 million) trade.

It’s quite an eye-watering deal and shows the prospective talent Ibrahim Osman has with West Ham essentially skipping a transfer level to go straight for the wide man.

Rangers meanwhile look set to pay around £4.5m for Mohamed Diomande, with the long-term plan being to sell the midfielder on to the Premier League at a sizeable profit.

Generally, this is the route that Right to Dream Academy graduates will take; that is via a third tier league/club like FC Nordsjælland, then to second tier club/league like Rangers or Ajax, and then to a top five club or league, such as the Premier League.

It’s a testament to the talent Ibrahim Osman boasts that West Ham have gone right to source with the winger only joining the Danes 11 months ago.

Mohamed Diomande earns Rangers Right to Dream

The Right to Dream Academy is a quite remarkable youth football project which harnesses the power of the beautiful game to improve lives in West Africa.

Places are limited, with only 18 scholarships awarded annually from 25,000 auditions; however, the impact can extend well beyond football, with some players even receiving scholarships in the United States.

Rangers have their own Right to Dream Academy player on the way; Diomande’s physical is supposedly scheduled, and the Ivory Coast player will get an opportunity to make an impact on the team.
