The Saints’ chances of hiring Bengals QBs coach Dan Pitcher as OC just took a hit.

Pitcher, 37, conducted a virtual interview with the Saints last week and was scheduled to conduct a second interview in New Orleans on Thursday.

However, Pitcher’s chances of joining the team in Crescent City may be hampered by the Tennessee Titans’ hiring of Pitcher, who is expected to take

over as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator. Pitcher, the quarterbacks coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, was reportedly interviewed by the Saints for the open offensive coordinator position.

Pitcher has apparently drawn interest from the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders as well.

Because of his work with LSU product Joe Burrow and backup Jake Browning, the pitcher’s prominence has increased.

As an offensive assistant when he first joined the Bengals in 2016, he advanced to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019.

After accepting his first coaching position as wide receivers coach at SUNY Cortland in 2012, Pitcher also served as a pro scout and scouting assistant with the Indianapolis Colts from 2012 to 2013.
