Transfer from Saudi Arabia may allow a Premier League opponent to “push to sign” an Everton player.

Everton has done a fantastic job thus far of holding onto its main players during the summer and January transfer windows.

It may have been quite simple to give in to pressure and let their team deteriorate in order to make ends meet, especially with players like Madou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite attracting enough interest.

However, Sean Dyche keeps those standout players, and if it weren’t for that one-point deduction, they would have been well out of the relegation zone that has hovered over them for the past two and a half seasons.

That hasn’t stopped the connections from forming, though, and as the Belgium international is predicted to depart, it makes sense that he has drawn the most of interest.

Already the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea have made their feelings known about the 22-year-old midfielder, who has swiftly grown into one of the Premier League’s hottest young prospects.

However, it is Newcastle United who seemingly remain the most keen, and continue to be referenced with a switch despite their FFP struggles.

Well, there could be a catalyst that hands them the necessary funds to push for such a move now, with reports emerging suggesting Miguel Almiron might be heading to Saudi Arabia.

In a move that led Joey Barton to suggest corruption was afoot, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards would detail how this could affect Everton.

He wrote: ‘Although reports of a price for Almiron being agreed with Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab are inaccurate, talks are set to continue over the next few days and there is a chance the Paraguay international is sold before the end of the month.

‘Newcastle would then use that money to push to sign Everton’s Amadou Onana or another midfield target.’

Soon after his signing, former Toffees manager Roberto Martinez even claimed, “We’re talking about a 20-year-old boy that is probably one of the most talented young players at that age in European football.” Here in Belgium, we are jubilant.
