Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Canadiens Lines, Pairings

The Bruins will commemorate another period during their centennial season on Saturday in addition to playing in an Original Six game.

Boston will pay tribute to the years 1986–2000, known as “New Blood, New Beginnings.” The franchise was going through a period of change and new beginnings when Ray Bourque and Rick Middleton teamed up with fresh talent like Cam Neely and Reggie Lemelin.

The Bruins of this era reached two Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1988 and 1990.The Black and Gold will hold a pregame ceremony to look back at when the Bruins broke the Montreal “jinx” on April 26, 1988.

For their game against the Canadiens on Saturday, Boston will welcome back injured players Linus Ullmark, Derek Forbort, Matthew Poirtas, and Brandon Carlo. Johnny Beecher, Oskar Steen, Mason Lohrei, and Parker Wotherspoon are anticipated to be healthy scratches.
