Sean Dyche reveals Everton plans for the winter break amid Ashley Young injury update

Everton’s winter break plans are revealed by Sean Dyche, along with an update on Ashley Young’s injuries.

Manager Sean Dyche of Everton has announced that the players would be taking a few days off from training.

This weekend is off for the Toffees since it’s their time to take a winter break from the Premier League. As they defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 in the FA Cup third-round replay, the Toffees’ absence will be shorter than that of some of their competitors. They will next play Luton Town in the competition in a week.

Everton’s season has been rather unpredictable. After being found guilty of breaking financial regulations, they received a 10-point punishment from the Premier League and were also subject to a second charge. Instead of finishing in 12th place in the standings, it has forced the Blues into yet another relegation struggle.

Because of their replay against Palace, the Blues’ 2023–24 season vacation is shorter than that of several of its competitors. But Dyche accepts it since it’s a component of a tournament he regards with a great deal of respect.

The Everton manager said: “It’s part of the competition. Until someone changes it – who is miles more powerful in football than me – then it’ll be the same. It’s one of them things. I have a lot of respect for the FA Cup so do what they need to do. The schedule is busy over Christmas and replays are not perfect but you’ve got to find a result in the end. They’re all right when you win them, not so good when you don’t.

“The guys are going to have some bad days now. The players have been required to play at their highest levels throughout December, which was not our fault, in an effort to win games. They have performed admirably, however, in terms of finding a balance and recovering from their workload. The staff and they will both have a few bad days soon, and then we shall resume.”

Ashley Young, who has missed the last eight games due to a hamstring injury, is ‘getting back’ to fitness, according to Dyche.
