Ruben Selles ‘grateful’ to continue development at Hull City following challenges with Reading FC
After transferring to Hull City, former Reading FC manager Ruben Selles acknowledged that he is happy to be able to continue growing as a manager.
Following all of the chaos at Reading, Selles decided to leave the team and sign with Hull City of the Championship.
Selles was able to shape his Reading club into one that was contending for a play-off spot with the team in sixth position when he left, despite working under incredibly hard circumstances.
He is now battling to remain in the Championship at Hull.
With a 2-1 victory over Swansea City over the weekend, the Spaniard secured his first win as Tigers manager and lifted Hull out of the relegation zone.
All three sides below them have a game to play, but they are only one point above the relegation zone.
We had the opportunity to come here (Hull) to continue our journey because of those challenging times, the players and staff who stood by me during those times, and all of the supporters.
“I believe that reading was a necessary part of my career; I am really appreciative of that, and I hope to put all of that knowledge to use in my new home at Hull.”
