Club In Touch With Southampton And Saints Star Over January Deal
Southampton are locked in a battle against relegation from the Premier League this season and have just sacked
Russell Martin to replace him with Ivan Juric.
What Juric’s opinions are on the squad he has inherited are unclear, but he is certain to oversee activity both in and
out in the January transfer window.
Juric is expected to have to declare his position on attacker Paul Onuachu, who is coveted by Turkish giants Besiktas.
He has only played 152 minutes of football so far this season, and Besiktas believes a deal can be reached.
According to Turkish outlet Gunebakis, they are negotiating with Southampton and Onuachu’s agency to finalize a
contract.
It has been alleged that Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi’s colleague is leading the negotiations.
Onuachu has also expressed a desire to return to Turkey, and it is believed he is willing to join Besiktas.
He spent the previous season on loan at Trabzonspor, another Turkish club interested in signing him.
