Rangers suitors boost January coffers by reported £4.7m & £6m with transfer ”completed”- Rangers News

Ridvan Yilmaz Rangers exit steps up as suitors sell two left-backs for over £10m.

With Verona reaching an agreement to sell Josh Doig to Sassuolo, Ridvan Yilmaz’s Rangers departure may be about to intensify in the next few days.

With significant mentions from both the Serie A team and Galatasaray, the scenario surrounding the 22-year-old Yilmaz has been the subject of the Rangers transfer window’s longest running story.

During his most recent news conference, Rangers manager Philippe Clement even addressed concerns regarding the subject, and it appears the Gers are willing to trade the player—but only at the right price.

Now, one of the Turkish international’s suitors could be about to bank north of £10m with a left-back chasm to fill following the exits of two players.

Josh Doig to leave Verona for Sassuolo

Josh Doig’s transfer from Sassuolo to Verona appears to have “completed a deal,” according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Sky Sports has confirmed this, stating on its Live Transfer Center (11:04 p.m., 18/01) that Sassuolo would pay an upfront fee of £5.1 million for the former Hibs left-back.

The transfer fee may ultimately total up to €7 million (£6 million), according to sources like Football Italia, who also assert that the agreement includes bonuses and a sell-on.

Nevertheless, as part of the agreement, Hibs will receive a “significant sell-on,” with Josh Doig leaving Edinburgh for Italy in 2022 after paying an alleged £3 million.

If the rumours regarding the price are accurate, Verona will have spent more than £10 million for each of their two left-backs thus far this season—even though some of that money may eventually be split with Hibs.

It comes after Filippo Terracciano, a dynamic right-midfielder who spends the majority of the season at left-back for the Italians, signed a £4.7 million contract to join AC Milan, one of the biggest teams in Italy.

Rangers set Ridvan Yilmaz fee

What that means for Rangers is that Verona now have an almighty left-back hole to fill in their squad amid those links to Ridvan Yilmaz.

But if they’re serious about moving for the Young Turk then they will have to put up some of that money they’ve just recouped from the sale of Josh Doig.

Rangers allegedly demanded either a transfer fee or a mandatory purchase this window after the Ibrox side turned down a loan bid from Galatasaray.

According to reports in Turkey, Verona now has the stacks and the need this January, and Rangers are demanding a guarantee of at least €5 million (£4.3 million) to trade Ridvan.

Will they, however, follow through on their promises or wait until the last 12 days of the January window?
