Rangers linked to 18-goal striker to finally fill goalscoring void, club chief speaks out -Rangers New

Hearts chief makes Lawrence Shankland contract claim as Rangers links now cooled.

The CEO of Hearts asserts that Lawrence Shankland, a striker connected to the Rangers, has had “no interest.”

The 28-year-old striker has reportedly received a new contract offer, and Andrew McKinlay has stated that he “sincerely” hopes and believes Shankland “will be a Hearts player on February 1.”

Throughout Lawrence Shankland’s career, Rangers have been consistently connected to a transfer for the striker, and those links are stronger now than they have ever been.

Rangers are now searching for a new striker, and Hearts’ star player Shankland has scored an amazing 18 goals in just 28 appearances this year.

As things stand, there has also been no interest of any kind in the Hearts striker, either formal or informal.

“We’re] well aware, understandable given how good Lawrence has been for us since he came to the club,” said McKinlay.

“We are delighted with how well [he’s done] and we all know, it’s very obvious how important he has been to the team, in particular this season.

“It has been documented that there will be a lot of interest. As of today, we haven’t had any.

“We still have had no interest, either formally or informally, expressed in Lawrence and we are not encouraging any interest in Lawrence.

“As has also been documented, we have made an offer to Lawrence. Now, Lawrence, as you’d expect is already in the high-pay bracket within the club – we have various brackets for players.

“But we have made him an additional offer and that’s gone to him and that remains on the table for him to consider.

“As we sit here, Lawrence remains a Hearts player and I sincerely hope and believe at the moment that he will be a Hearts player on February 1.”
