Stevenage boss Alex Revell believes his side were denied a ‘deserved’ opportunity to claim three points against the Blackpool.
On Saturday, the two clubs drew 0-0 at Bloomfield Road, with both teams unable to create many chances.
Rob Apter, Albie Morgan, and Jordan Rhodes all called Murphy Cooper into action, while Harry Tyrer was forced to make a few of stops, but there wasn’t much goal-line action.
In the final minutes of stoppage time, the visitors were confident that they should have been granted a penalty kick for an Odel Offiah challenge in the area.
“It’s an absolute stonewall penalty,” Revell told Boro’s club media following the game.
“I believe you should be cautious about what you say, but it is a stonewall penalty to win the game. Neither the assistant nor the referee said it, but if it’s in the tenth minute, I believe you get it.
“You have to be careful. To be honest, I am tired up with moaning about it. You get in trouble because coming here and receiving a penalty to win the game could have been what we deserved given the amount of effort we put in.
“What they don’t understand is that it costs points and positions, and that could be a huge decision come the end of the season.”
