Hugo Bueno, a defender for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has said that he was shocked when the team signed him as a young player and thought their initial interest was a joke.

It was made apparent in the summer that he was not included in previous manager Gary O’Neil’s plans for this season, thus he joined the Dutch team in quest of regular action away from Molineux.
He joined Wolves’ development setup from Areosa U19’s in July 2019 and is trying to make a name for himself after a quick ascent in recent years.
Since then, he has advanced through the club’s development divisions, and in October 2022, at the age of 20, he made his Premier League debut for Wolves.
He has now made 48 more appearances for the team, 43 of which have been in the Premier League. This is a significant accomplishment for a player who was largely unknown.
He explained that he believed the initial interest in him was a prank and that he still doesn’t fully understand how things transpired.
