Ridvan Yilmaz: Clement Demands Right Price

Manager Philippe Clement has made it clear that he won’t be left short-handed in the crucial left-back position, despite reports claiming the club rejected a loan-to-buy offer of around £3.4 million from Turkish giants Galatasaray for the 22-year-old. Hellas Verona has also been linked with a move for Yilmaz.

With Yilmaz’s future uncertain and Borna Barisic, Rangers’ other left-back, out of contract at the end of the season, Clement has emphasized the need for a solution at the position.

“We need to be prepared for everything, for every position also and make sure that we have solutions,” Clement said.

“That is one position that we have two players. One is end of contract, the other one there is a lot of rumours around. So it is clear that we need to be ready for that position. We cannot go on in three competitions with one left full-back. That is correct. And in other positions, it is the same.”

While Yilmaz remains in contention for a starting spot, Clement has acknowledged the need for players to demonstrate their commitment to the club.

“Players also need to show they really want to be here in the next couple of months,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rangers have suffered a blow with midfielder Kieran Dowell ruled out for two months due to an injury sustained during the team’s winter training camp in Spain. Dowell has made only 11 appearances for the Light Blues since joining on a free transfer from Norwich City this summer.

Transfer Window Open
