‘He was the one’: Jamie Carragher thinks Moshiri made huge mistake in sacking ‘top manager’ at Everton

With The Friedkin Group now at Everton, there will be concerns regarding their attitude on the manager.

Everton’s current position, just above the relegation zone, does not align with their new owners’ expectations.

The Friedkins want to attend Sunday’s Everton vs Chelsea match at Goodison Park to introduce themselves to fans.

However, Dyche’s future remains uncertain for the time being, since his contract expires at the conclusion of the season.

Jamie Carragher thinks Everton must regret sacking Marco Silva

Kevin Thelwell has received the Friedkins’ endorsement, but Dyche is still hoping for long-term support from the new owners.

Everton’s former manager, Marco Silva, is making a significant impact with Fulham, while Dyche’s future in charge remains uncertain.

“I am a huge fan of Marco Silva. Moshiri should have persevered with that player and given him more time with all of the chopping and changing at Everton. “He was the one,” Carragher explained.

“I can see the other ones; Everton has made a lot of questionable judgements in terms of who they’ve brought in.

“I believe he is a proper coach. His teams strike a good balance between playing football and not overplaying and getting themselves into trouble. Yeah, I think he’s an excellent manager.”

Under Silva, the Cottagers sit ninth in the league, nine points ahead of the Toffees.

Everton may now totally regret allowing Silva to leave after witnessing what he has done with Fulham.

Dyche’s contract with Everton expires at the end of the season, and Carragher anticipates his departure.

The 47-year-old was at Everton for about 18 months until being let go in December 2019, after which he spent about two years out of management.

Silva emphasised that managing Everton was an honour and that he has no negative feelings towards the club after his dismissal.

Silva’s time at Goodison Park may not have gone as planned, but he has certainly silenced any sceptics on Merseyside.

However, there was no separating the two sides when they played earlier this season, with Beto netting a late equaliser to earn Everton a point.
