Rodgers to conclude double transfer deal and replace player ‘Celtic fans have never been convinced’ by

The January transfer rumour mill is heating up at Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers is expected to hold the necessary talks before investing in the winter market to improve the team.

Celtic may appear to have little room for improvement, but it’s always a good idea to stay on top.

Celtic’s domestic dominance makes it easier for them to assert themselves now than in the past.

But in which areas of the team should Rodgers improve?

Celtic told to replace Greg Taylor and purchase a left-winger

Greg Taylor’s contract with Celtic expires next summer, and it’s unclear if he will sign due to a lack of communication.

Additionally, Alex Valle is on loan from Barcelona and Alexandro Bernabei is now playing in Brazil, making the left-back position uncertain for the long term.

According to Tam McManus, bringing in a left-back is a ‘priority’ for Celtic, as fans have ‘never been convinced’ by Taylor (PLZ Soccer interview).

He also requested another left-sided winger to assist Celtic’s penalty-winning hero, Daizen Maeda.

“Maybe somebody on the left wing to compete with Maeda as well,” suggested McManus. “I don’t believe Celtic need much.

“Definitely a left back. I think Taylor performed poorly in the League Cup final. Celtic fans have never been convinced by him. Okay, at the SPFL level. When you step up to the Champions League, I believe he is discovered a little.

“There are even whispers that the boy Valle will return as well. So left back will be a priority for me.”

What are the chances of Kieran Tierney returning to Arsenal?

Kieran Tierney made his League Cup return for Arsenal on Wednesday night, starting in a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace.

They were his first senior minutes since sustaining a hamstring injury for Scotland during Euro 2024.

Tierney’s contract expires in the summer, and Arsenal may have declined to extend it.

According to the Daily Mail, Tierney is considering a return to Celtic and is willing to accept a lower salary.

All of this should please Celtic fans.
