Jake Hastie, a former midfielder for Motherwell and Rangers, is expected to sign with Hamilton Accies.
The 24-year-old has started playing football with Hartlepool in the National League in England.
However, it now appears that Hastie will finish his loan return to Scotland, as Accies are eager to sign the winger for the balance of the year.
Since Hastie’s contract expires in the summer, the loan move might also become permanent at the end of the seas
“It’s about trying to get it into your head that if I keep doing this then eventually you’re going to get an opportunity, and if I keep doing it consistently when the opportunity does come up I’ll be ready for it.
“I’ve been working hard since pre-season, I had a good pre-season, and I’ve been feeling really fit and really sharp and I’ve kept working away – the gaffer has told me to keep working hard and I’ve got my chance.
“I’ve gradually got sharper in games and I’m starting to find my feet more.”
Former Motherwell academy graduate Hastie moved to Rangers from Fir Park in a £350,000 deal back in 2020.
