According to a report, Cowboys players feel strongly about Mike McCarthy.
The Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy’s job status is still up in the air following their crushing loss to the Green
Bay Packers on Sunday. The players’ feelings against McCarthy should be taken into consideration, even though the
majority of them think owner Jerry Jones will make changes.
Despite the Cowboys’ loss on Sunday, players are still solidly in support of McCarthy, according to NFL Network’s
Jane Slater. Players appreciate McCarthy’s “love of players” and regard him personally, according to Slater. Players
are more irritated by schemes than by McCarthy’s player management.
Jones is presumably aware of all of this. But the 81-year-old owner is also driven to win, and there will be a strong
incentive to follow Bill Belichick’s lead if he is available.
McCarthy will be aware of the rumours, but there might also be a good reason why he feels a little more at ease than
the general consensus would have us believe.
