The 50th anniversary of Burnley’s Division Two title victory in 1972–73 is commemorated in this hardback book. Vincent Kompany’s Clarets champions replicated this historic moment by reclaiming the Premier League precisely fifty years later.

The “Team of the Seventies” was one of the best teams Burnley Football Club has ever produced, and hordes of fans still talk about them today. In order to pay the bills, Burnley chairman Bob Lord sold a number of players, including Martin Dobson, Geoff Nulty, and Leighton James. By doing this, he prevented manager Jimmy Adamson from leading his club to even greater success.

We honour those Burnley icons while pondering “what might have been.” based on interviews with the renowned athletes of the day.
