Miami’s offense falters once more, marking its second struggle...

Although quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins offence struggled in Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans,

coach Mike McDaniel saw no blame being placed on others.

The bad news? The Dolphins were unable to afford one of their worst offensive performances of the season.

“Regardless of who was in there, I don’t think this particular game was up to the standard,” McDaniel stated on

Monday. “After today’s meetings, I believe everyone is extremely aware that that is not what we want Miami Dolphin

football to look like.”

In a game they had to win to increase their prospects of making the playoffs, the Dolphins offence committed four turnovers.

Miami also lost twice to Buffalo and Green Bay this season, dropping them to 1-4 versus playoff clubs. In Week 10,

the Dolphins defeated the Rams, who are now tied for the NFC West lead.

The 11-win Dolphins only defeated one team with a winning record before to the game, much like they did the previous season.

Zach Sieler, a defensive tackle, recently stated that since the team’s 2–6 start, they have been in “playoff mode.” They

have largely recovered, going 4-2 since Week 10 to maintain their prospects of making the playoffs.

They have, however, battled in the two losses during that time.

Miami lost badly to Green Bay on Thanksgiving, allowing 114 yards on the ground and only managing 39 yards on

the rush. They were 4 of 14 on third downs and missed at least a dozen defensive tackles.

The Texans held Miami to only 224 total yards on Sunday, including 35 yards gained via a fake punt.

This season, Tagovailoa’s passer rating of 60 was his second-lowest. Playing behind an offensive line that lost three

starting tackles and yielded three sacks, he was under constant pressure from Houston’s pass rush.

With a strip-sack and three interceptions, Tagovailoa helped Houston score 10 points, including a pick on Miami’s

final drive, which was their last chance to rally.

“I have to keep the ball safe. For the sake of our team, I must play better ball,” Tagovailoa stated. “Especially when

the team is looking to me to go and slow down our offence in order to possibly tie the game up, and I didn’t do that.”

In this league, that isn’t how you win games.

I’m really dissatisfied with my performance tonight and the way I carried myself on the pitch, with our teammates. I

simply need to improve in every way with that.
