This past weekend, Beckham shared his methodology in an episode of the Punch Line Podcast. The former standout player for LSU reaffirmed his desire to sign with the Jets and his readiness to do so, but he appeared dissatisfied with the way the Jets head management handled things.

Although the Ravens pursued the ball hard, Beckham described how the Jets “slow-played the offer” and how the team believed “they had it in the bag.” Beckham didn’t appear to like it, and he soon signed a contract with the Ravens.

Beckham used this well-known saying to encapsulate the state of affairs: “Go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated.” The Jets, he said, thought they were “the best team” given the circumstances, and he would be honoured to play for them.

Ultimately, he chose to sign with the Ravens after they made a competitive offer that was on par with the Jets’. As Beckham clarified, his choice was mostly influenced by how the two organisations handled the circumstance.
