NFL Wild Card Sunday picks: Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys odds, preview and predictions
Speaking of late-season momentum, the Packers’ three consecutive season-ending victories allowed Jordan Love and the team to storm into the playoffs. There were two displays of more than 30 points in that sample.
With a league-high 37.4 points per game at home this season, the Cowboys are a squad offensively superior than Green Bay. Dallas surely have the tools necessary to take advantage of the different weaknesses in the Packers defence, which is expected to be missing the erratic Jaire Alexander (ankle) for another game.
Packers vs. Cowboys Pick: Same Game Parlay: Cowboys moneyline and over 47.5 points (alternate total) (-102 or better)
The moneyline on the Cowboys is naturally heavily juiced, and the total has been on the rise as well. Love does have a deep array of weapons to attack with, but the primary issue for the first-year starter is his receivers and tight ends are all rookies or second-year players stepping into the postseason spotlight for the first time.
We’re extremely confident in a Cowboys win here, and combining it with an alternate total still gives us a very solid price.
2024 Super Wild Card predictions: Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions odds, preview and pick
The Packers vs. Cowboys game is expected to be an ideal prelude to the day’s most intensely contested game. Given each quarterback’s past relationship with their opponent, the Rams vs. Lions game features a lot of backstory.
Sean McVay and Ben Johnson, the two offensive masterminds in this game, are both quite accustomed to being aggressive. Considering the ideal conditions inside the dome, neither is probably going to avoid that.
Each team has deficiencies in the secondary that will undoubtedly be focused on. With the likes of Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Willliams and Jahmyr Gibbs among the pass catchers taking the field, there should be plenty of splash plays.
Rams vs. Lions Pick: Same Game Parlay: Alternate Total: Over 47.5 points and Matthew Stafford Over 1.5 Passing TDs (+106 or better)
This season, the Over was combined 20-14 in the games between the two teams, with a combined 12-5 in the relevant home/road splits.
In what will be an emotional matchup, both coaches should give their quarterbacks plenty of opportunities to show off their skills and accumulate enough points for the Over to win again.
