According to reports, Ipswich Town is in negotiations with a Premier League team to sell a “popular” Portman Road player.

The Chelsea Chronicle reports that trustworthy reporter Simon Phillips claims that Chelsea has now begun negotiations with Ipswich on a possible transfer for Delap.
The Blues contacted Ipswich, who reportedly rated Delap at up to £42 million, to see whether a transfer was feasible, but a January deal seems doubtful.
Delap, who has six goals this season and is Ipswich’s highest Premier League scorer, was praised by McKenna, who described him as a “popular” member of the team. Delap originally cost £15 million from Man City in the summer.
