Leeds United transfer stance on Archie Gray could change amid Manchester United links
Leeds United may reconsider their not-for-sale position on Archie Gray amid ties with Manchester
United if they do not gain promotion, according to Football Transfers.
The newspaper revealed on Friday, January 12, on its website that Leeds does not currently have any
intentions to cash in on the gifted young player, who can play right back or in central midfield.
That comes on the back of reports from Spain (11 January) suggesting Man United are interested in
signing Gray after deciding not to purchase Sofyan Amrabat on a permanent basis.
“The England Under-20 international is deemed not for sale by Leeds but it will all be dependent on
whether Daniel Farke’s side manage to get promoted ahead of the next campaign,” according to Jacque
Talbot’s Football Transfers article.
After enjoying an amazing breakthrough season at Elland Road, where he began by controlling center
midfield before moving into defense, Gray is one of the team’s most valued assets.
The England youth international is meant for the very best. Though he won’t be at Leeds forever, ideally,
in order for the team to make a major run at the top.
The question of whether he would be amenable to moving to Manchester United, Leeds’ bitter rivals, is
another one, and ideally one that will not require a response.
However, one thing is certain: Gray’s future will be the talk of the summer gossip pages if United does
not advance in May, either by default or through the play-offs.
