Reports are already dripping out as to what teams could hold interest, with the two NFC South teams with vacant positions connected.

However, one appears more strongly linked than the other.

So here’s the thing. The Panthers are a bit of a dumpster fire, and need a lot of help, so the notion of Belichick going there feels unlikely.

That would probably explain why the Falcons seem more likely to land him, and are already being linked.

Suffice to say, Belichick to the Falcons would not be ideal for the Saints. Their defence isn’t exactly lacking in talent, but a defensive mastermind like

Belichick might elevate it to a new level. In terms of skill, they have guys on the offensive line, which is different from New England and might be dangerous.

Which leads us to the quarterback that the Saints and Belichick might face off against.

The Falcons might select one, but if past performance is any guide, they might not want to start Belichick next to a developing quarterback, a situation

that also applies to the Panthers. Having said that, what would happen if they managed to sign Justin Fields or Russell Wilson? Well, that might cause some problems.

Ultimately, all of this is just conjecture. Though at times it seems as though we already know what the Saints are doing with their personnel, we don’t

actually know anything. That being said, just in case, the New Orleans Saints and their supporters should begin acclimating themselves to the idea of playing Bill Belichick twice a year for years to come.
