Ben Jacobs shares fresh Arsenal stance on Everton ace Amadou Onana as £50m-plus claim made

Ben Jacobs updates Arsenal’s position on Everton star Amadou Onana following a demand of more than £50 million.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Arsenal’s attempt to capture Everton star Amadou Onana this month will be “tough.”

This season, the 22-year-old midfielder has made 21 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions, tallying two goals.

After joining the team, Jacobs thinks Everton would have demanded more than £50 million for the Belgium international.

from Lille in August 2022 on a five-year contract.

In response to the question of whether Arsenal will sign Onana on an X Q&A, Jacobs said, “I think it will be tough.” Everton would still anticipate spending more than £50 million.

“Recall that they paid £33 million.Arsenal is expected to have a quiet window, and from what I’ve been informed, they haven’t made any progress with Onana thus far.

Given the enormous task that lies ahead, Everton boss Sean Dyche will be anxious to hold onto every player this month.

The Toffees are currently 17th in the Premier League and are fighting for their lives after receiving a 10-point deduction.

They need to start making up ground now that they have reached the halfway stage if they want to avoid finishing in the bottom three.

Luckily, Burnley, Luton Town, and Sheffield United—who were just promoted—are all having trouble adjusting to life back in the premier league.

Nevertheless, Dyche should still expect his men to do better because Onana is unquestionably a vital member of the Toffees.

Persuading the midfield star to pledge his future to the team until the conclusion of the season would be a wise move on the part of the Goodison Park authorities.

Then, in the summer, a possible departure might happen, which would be advantageous for both sides and allow Arsenal to add more midfield options.
