Four Leicester City players walking suspension tightrope against Brighton
To avoid a one-match suspension, a quartet from Leicester City must avoid having their names called by the referee at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Four Leicester City players must behave well against Brighton in order to avoid being suspended.
Along with Wilfred Ndidi and Jordan Ayew, Jamie Vardy and Boubakary Soumare received four yellow cards for the season when their names were taken during the victory over West Ham. They will be banned for one match if they do it again.
In actuality, the quartet must survive until the end of the year in order to avoid having their records cleared. Avoiding a booking against Brighton and the next four games against Newcastle, Wolves, Liverpool, and Manchester City is necessary to achieve this.
City have already had a player receive a one-match suspension this term. Facundo Buonanotte picked up five yellow cards in his first 10 Premier League appearances to be ruled out of the defeat to Chelsea.
This season, City had the fourth-highest number of bookings (37), after Manchester United, Southampton, and Chelsea. They are one of six teams, though, that have not yet received a red card.
In particular, Vardy, Ndidi, and Soumare appear to be frequent starters under the new manager, so Ruud van Nistelrooy will hope that all of his players can avoid the wrath of the authorities. With Patson Daka and Odsonne Edouard as possibilities up front and Harry Winks, Oli Skipp, and Hamza Choudhury ready to play deep in midfield, City does have depth in their positions.
