Aston Villa Eye Move to Sign ‘Amazing’ Star for Emery

Aston Villa are apparently interested in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who will be available for sale just four months after joining Chelsea. The English midfielder joined the Blues from Leicester City for £30 million, but he’s had a disappointing start in West London.

Dewsbury-Hall, 26, is becoming increasingly disillusioned with his lack of first-team opportunities at Chelsea, despite reuniting with his old Leicester manager, Enzo Maresca. He ranks after Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia in the Blues’ midfield hierarchy.

According to Football Insider, Villa are one of several clubs keeping an eye on Dewsbury-Hall and could make a move for the versatile midfielder in January. According to reports, the West Londoners would want to recuperate the £30 million fee they spent in the summer, but they may agree to a loan agreement if he insists on leaving.

Dewsbury-Hall, who has been characterized as “amazing,” played a key role in Leicester’s EFL Championship victory last season, and many anticipated him to be a regular for Maresca at Chelsea. He’s mostly played in the Europa Conference League and has yet to start a Premier League match.

Enzo Maresca on Dewsbury-Hall’s adaption at Chelsea

Dewsbury-Hall was a key player for Leicester last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 15 assists in 49 games across competitions. The Shepshed-born midfielder appeared to be on the verge of an England call-up before moving to Chelsea, where his playing time has decreased.

Maresca discussed Dewsbury-Hall’s difficult start at Stamford Bridge and how he needed to adjust to not being the’main man’:
I absolutely understand how terrible things are right now for Kiernan. He was the most important player at Leicester during my tenure there. Then he joins Chelsea and becomes one of the players, but he does not play right away, so you struggle at first.

A move to Villa could allow Dewsbury-Hall to shine in the Premier League after struggling at Chelsea. He might play in the Villans’ midfield alongside Youri Tielemans.
