Ruben Selles sends farewell message to Reading FC supporters

Ruben Selles has issued a farewell letter to Reading FC fans as he prepares to join Championship club Hull City.

Since joining Reading last summer, Selles has kept the club stable, steering Reading to League One safety despite all of the off-field concerns.

His squad has grown and is currently in sixth place in League One, as the Spaniard leaves to join Hull City, who are 22nd in the Championship.
Speaking to the club’s media, Selles stated, “I have a lot of emotions regarding my time here. First and foremost, I can state that it has been fantastic to witness the lads develop as a team.

“We’ve had a variety of events over the previous 18 months, but I’m most proud of the work and camaraderie that define this group.

“I am quite proud of the environment we have created.

“Reading helped me become a better person and showed me how to be the boss I aspire to be. You can never achieve it alone; it requires a team effort. That is something that will stick with me forever.

“I believe that one day, people will examine how these group of plates and technical professionals react when confronted with difficult conditions. The learning comes from both the negative and positive experiences we’ve had with the fans.

“I’d like to thank the fans for everything, for the support I’ve felt since the beginning, even when the results weren’t going our way.

“They recognized the struggles we’ve faced at the club, and their support has been invaluable in allowing us to persevere and keep the club alive.

“I’m very proud of the relationship we have built and wish everyone at the club, especially the fans, I hope they can keep enjoying with the team and keep supporting to move the club forward.”
