Reading FC coach to join Ruben Selles at Hull City as deal edges closer

Reading's Final Match Lap of Honour

Reading FC first-team coach James Oliver-Pearce is anticipated to join Ruben Selles’ coaching staff at Hull City after the manager leaves the Royals.

Selles is said to have returned to the Bearwood Park training field today to say his goodbyes to all of the workers before departing.

Oliver-Pearce and Tobias Loveland are anticipated to join Selles as part of his Hull setup.

It is currently assumed that Reading Under 21s manager Noel Hunt would take over the position left vacant by Selles.

Yesterday, it was announced that Selles had emerged as the leading candidate for the vacant Hull position and had been granted permission to talk with them.

The transaction came together quickly, with both teams agreeing on a compensation sum.

The Royals fans are now facing more uncertainty than ever, with the club in disarray and without a management.

The Reading team has been in a takeover crisis for more than a year, with absent owner Dai Yongge putting the club up for sale but no deal is currently in the works.

Despite their off-field issues, Reading are currently in sixth place in League One.
