“I’m told” – Rangers “ready” to sign £15k-p/w ace in January, says pundit

“I’m told” – Rangers “ready” to sign £15k-p/w ace in January, says pundit.

Glasgow Rangers are “ready to swoop” and bring a £15,000-a-week player to Ibrox in January, according to one pundit.

Rangers transfer rumours as pressure mounts on Clement

Manager Philippe Clement appears to be under big pressure to turn things around with the Gers, with his side third in the Scottish Premiership and already way behind rivals Celtic.

Rangers’ next 5 games Date Competition
Ross County vs Rangers December 8 Scottish Premiership
Rangers vs Tottenham December 12 Europa League
Celtic vs Rangers December 15 League Cup Final
Rangers vs Dundee December 21 Scottish Premiership
St Mirren vs Rangers December 26 Scottish Premiership

In recent weeks, the 50-year-old was connected with the Belgium position. However, he looks to be focused on turning things around at Ibrox, following two away wins against Nice in the Europa League and St Johnstone in the Scottish top division.

Rangers and Clement can make changes to their team during the January transfer window. Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is reportedly being considered for a loan move.

Joe Gelhardt, a forward from Leeds United, might also join Scotland on loan. Rangers have renewed interest in the £15,000-a-week attacker, who has struggled for playing time at Elland Road.

Pundit makes Rangers allegation on Joe Gelhardt’s move.

In an interview with Football Insider, analyst and former scout Mick Brown discussed Rangers’ interest in signing Gelhardt in January. Leeds has yet to decide on a loan or permanent exit. He has been “told” that Gelhardt is interested in leaving Leeds, and Rangers “will be ready to swoop,” with the prospect of playing in Europe enticing to the 22-year-old.

“Rangers are currently looking at a variety of players. You wouldn’t have expected them to be looking for a player who can’t make the Leeds team, but that is their current reality.

“Joe Gelhardt is a talented player who had a very strong reputation a few years ago. However, he has struggled to make an impact or contribute significantly.

“He hasn’t been playing frequently for Leeds, and I’m told he’d be interested in moving. That is the type of player the Rangers need to look at. If Leeds let him go in January, even if only on loan, they will be poised to strike.

“They are not the only club interested, but they will back themselves to win the race. They also compete in Europe, whether in the Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League, which is always popular with players.”

Gelhardt, praised by Jamie Carragher after breaking into the Leeds squad in the Premier League, can play as a center-forward or a second striker. He is under contract in Yorkshire until 2027.
