£27.5m star makes first start as Gary O’Neil makes one change to save his job – Wolves predicted XI vs Southampton

When Wolves play Southampton, their relegation rivals, Gary O’Neil may alter the lineup under duress.

On Saturday, Wolves will play Southampton at Molineux in what can already be called a Premier League relegation six-pointer.

Last week, the Saints defeated Everton 1-0 in their season opener. With a quarter of the season left, Wolves have yet to experience triumph. Even with a victory, neither team can truly escape the relegation zone. At most, Wolves could surpass Southampton and Ipswich Town, but Russell Martin’s team would need to reverse a seven-goal run to surpass Crystal Palace.

Wolves are ‘very’ hesitant to let go of Gary O’Neil, according to Midlands football reporter John Percy. They still consider him to be one of England’s best young managers, but if they lose against Southampton, they will have to make a choice over the international break.

Prior to Wolves’ recent poor performance, GON was being discussed as a candidate for the positions in England and Liverpool. Somewhere, there is a good coach who now has to choose a team that can perform well in front of the fans over the weekend.

Wolves predicted XI vs Southampton

These are the 11 Wolves players we believe will start this Saturday’s match against Southampton.

GK: Jose Sa

Sam Johnstone continues to regain his level of fitness. Sa is preferred over Dan Bentley in the interim.

RB: Semedo Nelson

He has started every league game for which he has been available and captained the club versus Palace.

Santiago Bueno, CB

started the last three games and have gained two points while playing well against Manchester City.

Craig Dawson, CB

Dawson has done it and been there. The Wolves defense is anchored by the 34-year-old.

LB: Gomes Toti

Toti Gomes played as a left-sided centre-back last weekend before making way for Jean-Ricner Bellgarde after being targeted by Palace. To accommodate Ait-Nouri playing a more attacking role, Toti could play at full-back.

CM: Joao Gomes

Got on the score sheet against Palace last week. Started all 10 league matches and is unlikely to be dropped.

CM: Tommy Doyle

Doyle is a midfielder that can play a pass from anywhere and is a good link between the defence and attack, he showcased this against Brighton. He’s deserving of another start.

RM: Guedes Goncalo

Guedes presented a convincing case against Palace. Maybe he should start because he contributed to Joao Gomes’ goal.

CAM: Cunha Matheus

Cunha is the player most likely to help Wolves escape their current situation. In addition to being a fantastic player on his day, he has contributed to a goal in each of the last two games.

LM: At-Nouri Rayan

Perhaps Ait-Nouri would be more effective in a role that requires more forward thinking, even though he excels at attacking from a distance. With three goals and two assists from ten games this season, he can cover Toti and advance if placed on the wing.

ST: Larsen Jorgen Strand

Last week, he didn’t have many opportunities, but he seized the one that was presented to him. He should lead the line once more because he is Wolves’ top scorer this season.
