Millwall manager Neil Harris has picked Leeds United to win the league this year. Leeds United lost 1-0 against the Lions at The Den Friday night, thanks to a goal from Japhet Tanganga.

The Whites were beaten for only the second time this season by the London outfit.

Harris remarked in his post-game interview with BBC Sport London on X: “It’s a fantastic result for us. Let’s be honest, Leeds were excellent, weren’t they? Leeds outperformed us that evening in terms of ball possession, ball movement, one-on-one skill, and rotation. They are simply the upper side. I believe they will win the league this year. If they keep playing like this, they’ll win the league this season. “We knew exactly what the game was going to be like. “We knew the intensity would be higher than it was against Burnley on Sunday.”

Leeds United predicted for promotion

Last season, Leeds United lost the play-off final at Wembley Stadium to Southampton. They then lost key players throughout the summer, including Georginio Rutter, Archie Grey, and Crysencio Summerville, to Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham, respectively.

Daniel Farke’s side has started the season successfully and is now in third place in the Championship table. They are four points behind Sunderland at the top and two behind Sheffield United in second place. The Whites will then face Burnley, Millwall, and Watford in the play-offs.

Leeds United held 75% possession against the Lions yesterday but were unable to break them down. Harris’ team defended effectively and is proving to be a difficult nut to crack right now. Farke’s men had 14 shots, four of which were on target, but nothing fell their way, and they returned to Yorkshire empty-handed.

What happens now?

Leeds United will be disappointed with their loss, but they have a chance to bounce back this weekend at home against QPR before the international break. They remain in a solid position. Their future opponents have won just one of their first 14 games, and their confidence will be low. They are in the bottom three with Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle, and they are already five points from safety after losing 4-1 at home to Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
