Why is Cowboys Hall of Famer Drew Pearson in a group text with rapper Post Malone?

The Hall of Famer with the Dallas Cowboys, Drew Pearson, discussed CeeDee Lamb’s MVP candidacy and his experience with

Post Malone during his interview on “The Downbeat” on 97.1 The Freak on Thursday.

A group text message is sent by Pearson to the Cowboys receivers who have worn No. 88, including Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant,

CeeDee Lamb, and Post Malone, all of whom Pearson is unfamiliar with.

“I didn’t even know who [Post Malone] was they had to tell me who he was,” said Pearson, “But I know now! He’s a bad man.”

Pearson went on to explain why he saw Lamb as a legitimate MVP candidate this year.

“He has 122 catches. It took me about, hmm, four years to get that many. He’s got 1,600 yards! 10 touchdowns! Oh my God, those

are Most Valuable Player numbers,” said Pearson, “Imagine him not being there in that Cowboys offense.

Imagine him not playing in that Cowboy offense, particularly in the passing game, for the season that he is having. We wouldn’t

be successful if CeeDee didn’t carry out his current mission. Thus, we’re honored that CeeDee is sporting the number 88.

The Hall of Famer gave Jerry Jones credit for his skill in selecting top-tier wide outs in the draft. “Jerry Jones deserves some

recognition, guys. I’ll tell you what, he can select some 88s. All right. We’ll let him keep doing that because he selected Michael

Irvin, Dez Bryant, and CeeDee Lamb, according to Pearson.
