Norwich City’s anguish has been compounded by the news that Josh Sargent will be sidelined for several weeks due to injury.

With Bristol City up next, Norwich must revert to their winning ways without the American once more.
Norwich, who are currently only a couple of results away from the relegation zone, will be anxious to avoid getting drawn into a relegation war and return to form and a play-off race at their next opportunity. Of course, they should be used to surviving without Sargent these days, since the forward missed 28 games last season due to an ankle injury. The timeline of his latest blow has been disclosed.
Thorup confirmed to The Athletic that Sargent will miss the next eight weeks of activity due to a groin issue. Sargent, who requires surgery, is expected to miss the frenetic festive season, which can make or break a team’s campaign.
Thorup confirmed the dismal news, telling reporters, “He (Sargent) is going to need surgery, so we’re talking eight weeks. It’s not an ideal situation for anyone. We have alternatives and opportunities for additional players to join.”
Forced to find an internal solution, Thorup will once again rely on Borja Sainz’s special talent to shine through when Norwich need it the most.
