Aston Villa will celebrate its 150th birthday next season and one of the ways the club is going to celebrate is by introducing a new club badge.

Fans would have already noticed that the new Aston Villa badge has been redesigned. The team even required us to vote for the best design before deciding to use it sporadically and not make it the official new badge.

However, the new one will be the next one, which will be publicly shown when the time is right. A picture of it has been posted online.

In response, Stan Collymore tweeted, “Not for me,” placing the entire Aston Villa name at the bottom of the badge instead of the top.

Of course, Villa’s iconic star, referring to the 1982 Champions League win, is still on there, as blue dominates the badge over claret.

It’s fair to say that the leaked images have resulted in a mixed response from fans, and if anything, more are negative towards it.

As President of Business Operations, Chris Heck is responsible for all of this, and he is under criticism.

You just have to make the proper decision to satisfy everyone, which is something you will never achieve. The club is doing the right thing by redesigning the badge.

Sure, by all means, be sure to showcase and represent the club’s history, but this is clearly not the best the powers that be can do.

Overall, Villa needs to do this well because it will all be revealed before of the club’s 150th anniversary, and no one wants to ruin a celebration!
