BBC men notice Marco Rose ‘losing the plot’ after Celtic hero ‘leathered’ RB Leipzig star

Celtic battled to a well-deserved Champions League win over RB Leipzig at Parkhead last night as Brendan Rodgers took another step closer to the play-off places last night.

After falling behind to a Christoph Baumgartner opener at Celtic Park, Rodgers’ team rallied back to win 3-1, putting the Hoops in strong contention to advance from the Champions League group stage.
What a battle it was. There were numerous individual clashes throughout the park as Leipzig attempted to control Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, however, was in the midst of the action, with BBC analysts Pat Nevin and James McFadden describing how the Celtic defender caused Marco Rose to ‘lose the plot’.

Cameron Carter-Vickers ‘steamrollered’ Openda at Celtic Park to infuriate RB Leipzig manager

In the second half, just before the US defender was replaced, he wrestled with Lois Openda, and Carter-Vickers’ actions enraged Marco Rose.

It was discovered by the BBC’s commentating team on Radio Scotland yesterday night.

McFadden remarked, “Carter-Vickers has just steamrolled through his back.” No question there’s a foul; he doesn’t get it, and Openda is always going to react; Carter-Vickers is aware of this, and he barely touches him.

“Carter-Vickers hits the deck and commits a foul, and he just runs through his back there.

Nevin: “As a centerback, don’t you simply love it? He practically had a free hit there and leathered right past him.

“Right in front of the referee, and nothing for it. I don’t believe any RB Leipzig fans agreed with the referee there.”

BBC commentator: “Marco Rose obviously didn’t. He is losing the plot down there with the fourth official.”

Cameron Carter-Vickers’ battling Celtic qualities shine through

Having recently returned from injury, the American is gradually returning to his best for Celtic and will be key for Brendan Rodgers’ chances of advancing out of the group stage this season.
