Southampton player said to be unhappy – Could open up transfer in January

According to Turkish media, Trabzonspor may make another attempt to get Southampton forward Paul Onuachu when the January transfer window opens.

After a successful loan stint with the Super Lig team during the previous campaign, the 30-year-old was strongly connected to a return to the team during the most recent transfer window.

According to a report by Karadeniz Gazete today on the most recent events surrounding Onuachu’s future, the Nigerian international is not content with his circumstances at Southampton.

The forward only played one minute in the Saints’ 1-0 victory over Everton over the weekend and has battled to get minutes for the team this season.

Trabzonspor is hoping to capitalize on the rumors that he would try to make a move in the new year. According to reports, Trabzonspor coach Şenol Güneş is eager to sign Onuachu and has given the club’s management the order to begin negotiations.

Trabzonspor’s failure to meet Southampton’s appraisal of the player during the summer was a sticking block, but because his contract expires in June 2026, it is hoped that the Premier League team may lower his transfer fee.

Then it was back to business as usual.
