‘Leeds United expected to win promotion’ after £10m+ deal agreed – Stefan Borson

Leeds United are anticipated to be promoted back to the Premier League over the next five years after signing a new contract with Adidas.

That is according to finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the deal’s structure will most likely revolve around the West Yorkshire giants’ return to the top flight.

Leeds committed to a five-year deal with Adidas ahead of their return to the Premier League in 2020. The club is said to have earned roughly £10 million per season in this record-breaking arrangement.

Leeds declared on October 30 that they had agreed to extend their collaboration with the German manufacturer.

Borson told Football Insider that despite failing to achieve promotion back to the Premier League, the club is still expected to receive £10 million per year from the arrangement.

Daniel Farke’s side is presently second in the Championship table following a great start to the new season.

Leeds United contract will be geared around promotion.

“I suspect that Leeds sell a decent amount of kit, even in the Championship,” Borson told Football Insider.

“On top of that, there is the Red Bull problem, which I believe Adidas will examine and consider as a foundation for the club’s future success in the next years.

“They most likely believe that Leeds will be back in the Premier League within the next five years.

“As a result, the structure of the transaction should accommodate that.

“We know Adidas is currently making a major drive to acquire a large portion of the football market.

“The Liverpool deal will be quite huge, and you have the new Manchester United deal, which we know from their finances is for £90 million each year.

“We also know about the Newcastle trade that happened this season.

Adidas is making a major push. “I suspect the numbers are still quite aggressive for Leeds, even as a Championship side.”
