Erik ten Hag admitted that Manchester United’s Premier League performance was “not good enough” after they finished eighth in the division.

United slumped to their worst ever finish in the English top-flight despite beating Brighton 2-0 on the final day of the campaign. The Red Devils also posted a -1 goal difference – their worst record in 34 years – and lost a total of 14 games, but could still enjoy a strong end to the season if they upset Premier League champions Manchester City when they meet in next week’s FA Cup final

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Ten Hag’s role at United amid his team’s disappointing campaign. There have been reports of the Dutch coach being sacked by the Red Devils this summer, and Ten Hag is aware that results have been unacceptable
