Anderlecht have announced that Jesper Fredberg is no longer the club’s Sporting Director. The Dane, who had been in post for just over two years, has been replaced by Olivier Renard. The former goalkeeper has had spells with KV Mechelen, standard Liege, Royal Antwerp and most recently Montreal.

 

Renard comes with some controversy from his time with Mechelen and Operation Clean Hands, an investigation into corrupt practices in Belgian football. While Renard has not been convicted, Anderlecht have a clause included in his deal that says in the event that he ever was to be convicted, he
