The statement Philippe Clement has to answer for at Rangers AGM

The statement Philippe Clement has to answer for at Rangers AGM

Although Rangers AGMs are never dull events, this one is expected to be a huge success. It takes place on Thursday.

No one is safe; the board will probably receive the most of the criticism, but the manager will also have to defend his team’s present performance and condition.

Philippe Clement words could haunt Rangers AGM

Following his parade at Ibrox, Clement was asked by the media what his preferred style of play would be. According to Sky Sports, he didn’t hold back or make any grandiose statements.

It has consistently been a prevalent play style. Additionally, the first team I started with, Waasland-Beveren, was relegated, but we played powerful football and achieved success with that approach,” Clement added.

“Taking control of the game is something I truly want.” I want to make things, but I want to do it well. But ultimately, winning is the main goal.

My approach, though, is to create opportunities, make room for us, and switch up the players’ positions frequently. You need to move a lot with various players in order to do it.

It all comes down to timing and effective teamwork. Therefore, putting all of these things into practice takes time.

Position Team Played Won Drawn Lost For Against Diff Points
1 Celtic 13 12 1 0 40 4 36 37
2 Aberdeen 14 10 3 1 29 16 13 33
3 Rangers 13 8 2 3 18 9 9 26
4 Dundee Utd 14 6 5 3 21 14 7 23
5 Motherwell 13 6 1 6 16 19 -3 19
6 ST Mirren 15 5 3 7 19 25 -6 18

is Philippe Clement’s fate already sealed?

Questions concerning Rangers’ style of play wouldn’t be as prevalent if they were winning.

Rangers have had trouble controlling the game, creating opportunities, and generally appearing disorganised this season.

while compared to some of the domestic performances, particularly while playing away from home, the difference with European football simply makes the frustration worse.

Jason Holt, who plays for St Johnstone, is currently Rangers’ co-leading goal scorer in the league when playing away from home.

Looking back at what Clement initially set out to do, there is a sense of hope rather than expectation, but for the time being, results are all that matter given the circumstances in the Scottish Premiership.
