In January, Unai Emery hopes to sign a £13 million player that he truly adores to Aston Villa.

Aston Villa, who are soaring in the Premier League, may have a fantastic chance to bolster their roster in January under Unai Emery.

Villa may make acquisitions elsewhere, but it appears that finding a right-back to rival Matty Cash is their top priority.

The signing of Pau Torres and Alex Moreno is a direct result of Unai Emery’s well-known and extensive understanding of Spain’s La Liga.

A player who is now essential without Tyrone Mings is Torres, in particular, who has been a very wise addition.

Villa might also be interested in another Spanish player, according to a recent report from The Athletic.

The manager would want to collaborate with Marcos Acuna of Sevilla, a player who has been connected to Emery since his return to England.

Additionally, based on this story, Emery might target Acuna for Villa in January once again.

A deal for the left-back may seem more realistic in the summer, however, it remains a possibility in January.

Unai Emery would love to bring Marcos Acuna to Aston Villa in January

The 32-year-old Argentinian is seen as a player who can replace Lucas Digne at left-back, who is on very high wages, or even play ahead of him as a winger.

Such versatility would be a real asset for Emery, who will be hoping to negotiate the challenge of Champions League football in the near future.

It remains to be seen just how much Acuna could cost Villa, a player who moved to Sevilla for £13m back in 2020.

But there surely will be some manoeuvrability for Emery in January, who is building an excellent project at Villa.

Perhaps fans would see it as a huge shame if Villa didn’t strengthen their squad mid-season, especially given their league position.

But perhaps the arrival of another forward who could provide back up to Ollie Watkins and compete on the wings would be the most ideal signing.

Jhon Duran looks an excellent prospect, but it would perhaps be too early for him to lead a top four push if Watkins were injured.

Looking at departures in January, it seems as if two senior players are now available for clubs interested.
