Running, Working: Birmingham Boss Praises Blues Star’s Training Ground Commitment
Chris Davies, the manager of Birmingham City, believes that when Lukas Jutkiewicz is not playing frequently, people do not notice how hard he works on the training pitch.
With 339 appearances played for Birmingham City, the 35-year-old centre forward has played a bit-part role this season.
Jutkiewicz scored a goal to help Birmingham defeat Blackpool 2-1 in their FA Cup second round match on Sunday after Davies granted him a starting position.
Even when Jutkiewicz isn’t playing for them on a regular basis, he puts in a lot of effort on the training pitch to maintain his physical fitness, the manager noted.
Davies noted that players like Jutkiewicz deserve recognition for their assistance in rotating the team, stating that it is difficult to make 10 changes and still get the team to perform.
Davies said Birmingham City TV, “It’s really hard to make ten changes and still look the same, but we did look the same.”
However, it is only feasible due of the actions of these players that the public is blind to.
For instance, Lukas Jutkiewicz works hard at the training ground while everyone else is playing games.
He is physically prepared when he enters the game since he is working and running.
“Coming out of the cold is difficult, and there were a few instances of that, but it is all related to the daily job they do at the training site. So, they deserve all the praise.
Birmingham will now turn their attention to a league match against Stockport County on Wednesday after moving on to the next round of the FA Cup.
