Birmingham City’s League One rivals seal sudden double out-of-window transfer swoop
After suffering multiple injury setbacks, Phil Parkinson’s team has strengthened its squad depth by completing the short-term additions of Matty James and Jón Daði Böðvarsson.
Böðvarsson, a 64-game veteran of Icelandic football, has played for Reading, Millwall, and Wolverhampton Wanderers in addition to his most recent team, Bolton Wanderers. The striker has made 78 appearances in League One and 164 in the Championship.
Since departing Bristol City as a free agent in July, James, on the other hand, has been without a club. A graduate of Manchester United’s system, the 33-year-old has never fallen as low as League One. James has made 42 Premier League matches and appeared in the Championship an incredible 247 times.
Wrexham has successfully tapped into the free agent market by attempting to sign two seasoned and somewhat adaptable players. However, the two have only agreed to extremely brief team contracts, which will only keep them at The Racecourse through January 2025.
