Why Tyson’s rock after it was revealed she kept her miscarriage secret from him so he could concentrate on his Usyk bout

Inside Paris Fury’s role as husband Tyson’s rock after it was revealed she kept her miscarriage secret from him so he could concentrate on his Usyk bout

Paris Fury tragically miscarried her and boxer husband Tyson’s baby the day before his heavyweight defeat by Oleksandr Usyk in Dubai in May.

But the mum, 34, chose not to tell her partner before the match, leaving him to  concentrate on the fight.

Paris has been branded a ‘saint’ by fans after the family opened their doors to Netflix cameras for their docu series At Home With The Furys.

As well as juggling life with her seven children Paris has also supported husband Tyson through his mental health struggles as well as receiving vile racist abuse since being catapulted into the spotlight.

Supporting Tyson through mental health struggles

Paris and Tyson are childhood sweethearts and got married when they were 21 and 19 respectively, with Tyson going on to find massive fame as a boxer.

The couple wed in 2008 and she has been at her husband’s side throughout his battles with mental health, suicidal thoughts and eventual bipolar diagnosis.

Paris admitted she was revealed when doctors informed Tyson that he was suffering with the disorder as it helped better explain his irrational behaviour.

On the family’s Netflix show the box and his family spoke candidly about his struggles and viewers saw as had trouble being away from the boxing ring, feeling lost and lacking purpose.

With Paris admitting she worried he might slip back into the depression and addiction that led him to consider suicide when he left the sport for another short period in 2019.

Saying: ‘When he last stopped boxing, Tyson had an alcohol and drug addiction. He suffers from a few mental health problems. He’s got ADHD, depression, and it all spiralled out of control. We had a bad two years.

‘There’s no point saying that won’t happen again because that’s the elephant in the room I think about.’

Despite the glorious lifestyle the pair enjoy now, they still have to support one another, as they have in the past.

Back in 2016, when Tyson was in the prime of his career, he was stripped his titles while holding an undefeated 25-0 record after failing a drugs test for cocaine.

Admitting that after taking a step back and ‘losing everything’ he  sunk into a deep depression and said he wanted to die on a daily basis.

A therapist helped him ‘get my life back on track’, and Paris was also supporting her husband through his troubles.

She said things became much clearer in 2017 when Tyson was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, telling GMB in 2021:  ‘It was a relief, it cemented it.

‘We weren’t wondering if he had something wrong. There were demons there from a young age. It made it so much easier to accept what he was going through.

‘He’s not bad or selfish because he wants to be – it was actually an illness.’

Tragic miscarriages

In May, Paris suffered her third miscarriage, at six months, just one day before Tyson’s big fight in Dubai  but chose not to tell him ahead of the match.

The boxer has now recalled a conversation he had with his wife, who had opted to stay behind in England, that left him concerned heading into the fight.

Telling The Mirror: ‘When she said she couldn’t come over, I knew there was a problem, she usually comes out on fight week but she said she had high blood pressure.

‘I knew she wasn’t coming over on the Friday and [Saudi boxing chief] Turki Alalshikh offered us a private jet to get around the high blood pressure and said he would bring the doctor with her.

Iam not making excuses but she was six months pregnant; it’s not like a small miscarriage at the beginning, you have to physically give birth to a dead child, on your own, while your husband is in a foreign country. I could not be there for her in that moment and that is tough for me. To go through that on your own, that isn’t good.

Back in 2021 Paris candidly shared the ‘devastating’ pain she felt after losing two babies on her road to parenthood.

After enduring a stillbirth at six months in 2014 and then suffering a devastating miscarriage at eight weeks shortly before Tyson’s 2018’s comeback, choosing again not to tell her husband straight away.

Marking Baby Loss Awareness Week, Paris reached out to those who have gone through a similar situation, as she candidly shared how ‘lonely’ she felt after experiencing both miscarriage and a stillbirth.

paris shared a sweet snap of herself and husband Tyson, who is pictured yawning, in bed together, with their youngest daughter Athena lying across her famous dad’s chest.

She added a lengthy caption alongside the precious family photo, as she revealed: ‘The last week has been a whirlwind but I’m so happy to back home in Morecambe with the kids, yes all six of them!

‘Even from a young age I always knew I wanted big family – it’s in my bloodline after all as my Granny had eight – and with every baby my confidence as a mum has increased, I’ve got a routine and I know what works for us.’

Racist abuse

Back in 2022 Paris has revealed she’s been subjected to vile racist abuse since joining the Loose Women panel.

She appeared  several times on the ITV daytime show in the past before it was announced in 2020 that she’s be joining as a regular panellist.

But despite being a hit with bosses and viewers alike, Paris has been targeted by nasty trolls who taken aim at her traveller background, branding her a ‘dirty gy**o’.

Paris however brushed off the remarks, writing in her new book Love and Fury: ‘If a stranger from cyberspace tells me that dirty ‘gy**os’ shouldn’t be on television, it’s in one ear, out the other.’
