Rangers sign key Aberdeen staff member as ‘best in the business’ departs Pittodrie

Rangers sign key Aberdeen staff member as ‘best in the business’ departs Pittodrie.

The Light Blues have hired Kevin Bain, the Dons’ head of medical, who has worked under five different managers in his two years at Pittodrie.

Rangers have hired Kevin Bain as their new head physio after recruiting from Aberdeen’s backroom staff.

The Dons’ head of medical has joined Govan, having previously been hired at Pittodrie by former Reds manager Jim Goodwin in 2022.

Bain is regarded as one of the best physiotherapists in the country, with a proven track record in injury prevention, and will now assist Philippe Clement’s backroom crew.
Throughout his time in Aberdeen, the Scot has worked for five different managers: Goodwin, Barry Robson, Neil Warnock, Peter Leven, and Jimmy Thelin.
According to the Daily Record, he previously played for St Mirren and Ross County before joining the Dons.

Thelin and the Dons will now have to find a new head of medical and sports science, but the hunt is already on.

They want to make a permanent appointment in the coming weeks, especially when the season enters its most exciting time.

The Dons drew 1-1 with Hearts on Sunday, collecting two points from three away games against Hearts, Hibs, and St Mirren.

They’ll now meet champions Celtic at home on Wednesday. The Hornets are now four points ahead with one game in hand.
