Maika Sivo, a former Parramatta Eels star and target for the Leeds Rhinos, has been predicted by Australian rugby league commentators Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher to succeed in the Super League and win Man of Steel if he relocates to the UK.

Sivo has been strongly linked to a move to Headingley for the 2025 campaign, and today Parramatta confirmed he will be leaving the team after six seasons, adding fuel to the fire.

Australian commentators said the Leeds Rhinos’ new addition “will score 50 tries” and “win Man of Steel.”

Joel and Fletch praised the Fijian international as a Super League triumph on The Run Home, even going so far as to claim that he “could score 50” tries in a season!

“Maika Sivo could score 50 if he joins the Rhinos, stays healthy, and plays the entire season,” Caine stated.

“Maika Sivo could break records over there for tries,” he continued. How wonderful he would be to sign.

Fletcher, the co-host and former Kangaroos and New South Wales star, also stated that he might turn into a Headingley cult legend.

Using Ryan Hall’s experience in the NRL as a parallel, Fletcher also explained why he was so sure Sivo would thrive.

“Remember the opposite; let’s discuss Ryan Hall,” Fletcher remarked. “He came to the Roosters and didn’t score a single try, despite having about a million tries in the Super League!”

Later, Caine expressed his opinion that Sivo might be a candidate for Man of Steel: “I’ll say this: a winger could win Man of Steel from the wing, though I’m not sure if they have ever done so.”

Sivo would be reunited with former manager Arthur if he were to join the Rhinos. The two had previously collaborated at the Eels before Arthur was fired earlier this year.

Since making his full NRL debut in 2019, the winger has amassed an incredible 104 tries in 115 games for Parramatta. During the 2022 Grand Final loss to Penrith, he also started on the wing.

Paul Momirovski is rumored to be returning to the NRL following just one season at Headingley, and he has been strongly connected to a 2025 move to Leeds.
