Norwegian Air flight declares emergency and circles Suffolk

An aircraft that declared an emergency on board this afternoon circled above Suffolk.

Around 1.50 p.m., the Norwegian Air aircraft took departure from London Gatwick Airport with a scheduled landing at Gothenberg Airport in Sweden at 4:30 p.m.

The flight reported a Squawk 7700 while in the air, indicating that there was an emergency on board.

Before flying into Suffolk, the aircraft circled over Norfolk.

The aircraft was spotted over Stoke-by-Clare, Needham Market, and Ipswich.

Since then, the Boeing 737-8JP has touched down at Essex’s Stansted Airport.
