“A massive move” – Pundit reacts as Norwich City secure Arsenal agreement

Carlton Palmer believes the arrival of Jack Wilshere at Norwich City is a massive move for the club.

The former midfielder has joined Johannes Hoff Thorup’s coaching team, the Canaries disclosed earlier this week.

Narcís Pelach, who left in September to take a managerial position at Stoke City, has been replaced by the 32-year-old.

Having managed Arsenal’s U18 team in the past, Wilshere has established himself as a bright young coach.

At the London club, he has been instrumental in nurturing new, promising talent, some of whom are currently on the

periphery of Mikel Arteta’s first team roster.

Palmer is thrilled about the possibility of Wilshere joining Norwich and thinks it’s just another example of the team’s

astute hiring practices.

“With just two points separating them from a play-off spot, Norwich City is in seventh place with 17 points after 11

games,” Palmer told Football League World.

Additionally, they have hired Jack Wilshere, a highly regarded coach at Arsenal, as a coach.

Jack is extremely young, he stopped playing through injury, completed his coaching qualifications, and wanted to

continue playing football. He was an amazing player, and who knows what he might have accomplished if he hadn’t

had those ongoing injury issues.

He’s highly regarded, and this is a fantastic chance to visit Norwich, but we’ll have to wait and see.

The fact that Norwich brought in someone like Jack Wilshere demonstrates their forward-thinkingness.

Considering the players Norwich has previously recruited, developed, and sold on, I believe this is a huge move that

demonstrates their forward-thinking approach to hiring.

We’ll have to monitor Jack Wilshere and see how he does, but I think it’s big business from Norwich.

Arsenal has demonstrated this in the past by producing some extremely gifted football players who have gone on to

become some of the Football League’s best managers and head coaches.

In addition to the fact that he is from Arsenal and knows the young players, I believe this is a huge move for

Norwich. It will also benefit them if they choose to sign young players from Arsenal.

Wilshere will now join Thorup’s coaching staff as the team looks to contend for a Championship play-off spot this

year.

Norwich will be aiming for a return to the Premier League as this is their third year back in the second level.

After 11 games of the season, Thorup’s team is now two points outside of the top six in seventh place.

Next up for the Canaries is a home game against Middlesbrough on 27 October.

Wilshere’s arrival at Norwich is an exciting move

With a move to Norwich, Wilshere will have the opportunity to begin working in first team football after gaining

some excellent managerial experience in Arsenal’s academy system.

The 32-year-old will be expected to perform at a higher level, but he will probably like the challenge after excelling as

a player at Arsenal.

Norwich has a strong start under Thorup, and the players should benefit from Wilshere’s arrival.

Although the extent of his influence at Carrow Road is still unknown, this is a great development and a wise decision

on Wilshere’s part to advance his coaching career.
